Need Left Hand Throttle
« on: March 08, 2010, 12:43:09 PM »

I am in the process of trying to ride again after 30 years. My right hand is useless so I must control everything from the left. I fabricated a device that will allow me to grip the right hand grip.
Either a thumb throttle or twist throttle is probably best for me.

Does anyone know where I can buy something that can be modified for left handed use?

I can't grip with my right hand, I'm an incomplete quadrapledgic,..I have a clutch assist on my clutch lever and I made a thumb brake on the left,..the way I solved my throttle was I put guled velcro needles on the throttle grip and glued the velcro loops to the fingers and palm of my right hand glove,.works great.
If you don't want to try that,..you could also (I've seen a couple of them on 3 wheelers) rig up a foot gas pedal wouldn't be hard to figure out.

Virtually everything you need to know about setting up left hand, one hand controls can be found on this website.  Here is a link to my description of how I set up a left handed throttle and brake.
